Cape Town mums patrol streets amid surge in violence

The South African government has deployed 2,200 soldiers alongside the police in five provinces for a period of one year to combat gangs and organized crime. One of the hardest-hit cities is Cape Town where, in the face of the violence, local initiatives are emerging, including a group of mothers who are organizing neighbourhood watch groups to protect their community and its residents.
