Occupying Iran's Kharg island could be 'dangerous and risky' for US forces

US and Israeli strikes on Iran continue over a month after the joint campaign began. Washington is mulling a ground offensive to seize Iran's nuclear stockpile, which would be one of the riskiest in US history. Thousands of American army personnel arriving in the region over the weekend, as Trump also signalled to a possible seizure of Kharg island.

Following the 2022-2023 coups in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, the junta regimes turned to Russia, China, and even the US. Now, the EU wants to invest more in West Africa's security and growth to forge closer ties.

It follows a decision by the Spanish government to deny the US use of the two jointly run military bases in Andalusia.

The raid led to revenge attacks in Jos, with 22 reported dead so far in one of the most volatile parts of the country.
